Bernstein’s Candide Overture brings it all together with theatrical flair and boundless optimism, seamlessly setting the stage for the rich emotional world of Rachmaninov after intermission.  The Symphonic Dances was composed on Long Island NY in 1940.  All of the pieces were written in the USA.\n
